Bradley Eugene Stevens age 65 of rural Caney, KS went home to be with his Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away January 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Brad was born in Coffeyville on January 16, 1956 to Chester L and Norma M. (Owens) Stevens. He attended Caney schools and graduated from Caney Valley High School, he continued his education at McFarland Trade School. Brad was united in marriage to Sherry A. Robertson on April 15, 1976 and to this union the couple was blessed with two daughters and a son. He was an extremely hard worker and began his own business in the 80’s Stevens Well Pulling; he then went to Boeing of Wichita where he was a vibration analysis expert for 16 years, and then CVR Energy as a Sr. Inspector for 10 years before retiring to the farm, where the real work began. Brad had a deep passion for the farm and loved raising cattle and sharing his love of his farm with his friends and family. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Caney and First Baptist Church of Oxford and he also served as a youth leader for several years in Oxford. He was most recently a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville.
Brad’s memories will live on with his loving wife of 45 years, Sherry of the home, his children; Kendra Potucek and her husband Ryan of Melissa, TX, Kari White and her husband Jeremy of Derby, KS, and Chet Stevens and his wife Katie of Manhattan, KS, his siblings; Leo Stevens and his wife Debbie of Owasso, OK, Judy Thomas of Carl Junction, MO, and Marlene Smith and her husband Michael of Skiatook, OK, grandchildren; Jake, Jared, and Jentry Potucek, Reese, Blake, and Brody White, and Adeline Anderson, nine nieces and nephews and his faithful farm dog Mickey.
He now rests with his parents, his father and mother-in-law Kendall and Louella Robertson, and brother-in-law Larry Thomas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:00pm at the First Southern Baptist Church 2701 W 8th St, Coffeyville, KS 67337. Burial will immediately follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, KS. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the First Southern Baptist Church or to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
