Ada Fugate

ADA I. FUGATE 1919 2006 Ada I. Fugate, age 86, died early Saturday morning, July 22, 2006 at the Asbury Village in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was born November 11, 1919 in Geary, Oklahoma to Emory W. Tolle and Ada Burns Tolle. She was a 1938 graduate of Geary High School, Geary, Oklahoma. On October 8 th of 1938 she married Roy Fugate in Watonga, Oklahoma. They made their home in Geary until 1957 before moving to the Coffeyville community. Mr. Fugate preceded Ada in death February 11, 1987. Mrs. Fugate worked for Karbys, Food Town, Pigley Wigley. She was later employed by the First National Bank of Coffeyville as a Teller for 10 years. She retired in 1980 from the First National Bank. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coffeyville, Ks. She was also a member of the American Baptist Womens Ministry. Mrs. Fugate served as a volunteer with the local Red Cross. She is survived by her son, Donald M. Fugate and wife Cathy of Coffeyville; daughter, Beverly Ann Smith and husband Morris of Smithville, Mo. Five Grandchildren Six Great Grandchildren Two Great-Great Grandchild She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Lula, Julia, Zelma, Ella, Leona and one brother, E. W. Tolle. There will be no formal calling hours or visitation at the Funeral Home prior to services on Wednesday. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, 300 W. 9th Street, Coffeyville, Kansas. Rev. Wayne Norton will be presiding. Inurnment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville, Ks. The family has suggested memorial contributions to be given to the First Baptist Church, Harry Hynes Hospice or The American Cancer Society.
