Adaline Wilda (Comstock) Smith, 94 of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, passed away on December 10, 2020 at home with her family by her side.
She was born February 15, 1926 in Oilton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Willis R. Comstock and Florence M. (Euing) Comstock. She grew up and graduated high school in 1945 from Lenapah, Oklahoma. She worked in Coffeyville, Kansas at Kress and at Bynum Clothing store as a seamstress, she loved to go to auction, and buy all the stuff at the end for one dollar, then going through the stuff, she was like a kid in the candy store. Adaline loved to sew, making quilts and throws, she even sold some around Christmas and would give them out to the family. The time of her life was on Labor Day weekend when Charlie (her son) would have his yearly party. The two of them would go around on the four-wheeler and deliver fliers to family and friends. She loved to sing at the party “She’ll be coming around the mountain”.
Adaline and Anzel Smith were married August 11, 1945. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Anzel, and two sons, Larry E. Smith and Charles R. Smith. Survived by one grandson; John and wife Linda Smith, five granddaughters; Valerie Baldwin, Nikki Carrikey, Samantha Madison, Cynthia Kinser, Julia Bently. Sixteen great grandkids, twelve great-great grandkids.
At Adaline’s request cremation will take place under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Due to Covid-19 the family will have a private Memorial Service and she will be inurned at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas.
