Former Coffeyville resident, Albert LIke Adams died Friday, June 1, 2007 in Loveland, Colorado at the age of 82. He was born in Tyro, Kansas, July 18, 1924 to Perry and Katie Elliott Adams. He grew up in the Dearing and Tyro, Kansas area. He served in the US Army from 1944-1946. After serving in World War II, he married Frances Hughes in 1946 and they made their home in Coffeyville. He was employed for several years by the Page Milk Company and later owned and operated the Convenient Food Mart in Coffeyville. He served as a member of the Coffeyville City Commission. He had been retired for many years and enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motor home. He moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1999. He is survived by a son, Kenneth and daughter-in-law, Vicki Adams of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; a daughter, Kay and son-in-law, Barry Dykes of Loveland, Colorado; a daughter, Karen and friend, Larry Jones of Pittsburg, Kansas; a sister, Frances Felts of rural Liberty, Kansas; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Albert was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers, Charles Adams and Gene Adams. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 8, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel, Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Kevin O39;Connor will officiate and burial will follow at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, June 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home to sign the guest register. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Albert Adams Memorial Fund in care of Penwell-Gabel, Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home.
