Allan Kuch Jr.

Allan Low Kuch Jr. Age 90 of Coffeyville passed away on January 21, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home.

Allan was born in Sedalia, Missouri on July 1, 1927 to Allan Sr. and Hilda Marie (Jensen) Kuch. During Allan's senior year at Field Kindley High School he left school and joined the United States Navy on October 16, 1944 near the end of World War II. While in the Navy he became a Gunner's Mate M Third Class. After being honorably discharged on April 29, 1948 he returned home where he received his GED. He continued serving in the Navy Reserves from 1948 to 1953. He continued his education at the National Trade School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1950, receiving his certificate to become a draftsman in mechanical engineering drafting and machine drafting. He found employment with Dixon Manufacturing Co., Inc. and then went to work for Phillips Petroleum Co., in Bartlesville but then transferred to the Midland, Texas office and Odessa, Texas office until his retirement in 1985. Allan believed in a strong work ethic, he was truly devoted to his family, friends, and his work which dated back to his childhood jobs mowing lawns and working for the bowling alley.

Allan had a wonderful sense of humor, always smiling and making someone laugh, he never knew a stranger. Allan was a kid at heart, always willing to play with not only his kids but the neighborhood kids too. He was very creative and loved life. He was dedicated to his wife Velma of 61 years, they were married on April 15, 1949, and she preceded him in death on October 3, 2010. Together or with family and friends they enjoyed playing games, cards and having fun.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Linda and her husband Stephen Pingel of Willow Spring, North Carolina; Mark Kuch and his wife Pamela of Edmond, Oklahoma; Denise and her husband Eric Pani of Monroe, Louisiana; Susan and her husband Lee Butts of Paige, Texas; Kent Kuch and his wife Suzanne of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
He is now resting with his wife, parents and siblings, Vynetta Marie Hudson, Audrey Shifrin and his infant granddaughter.

Services honoring his life will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel at 10:00 am with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, from 6 to 7pm at the Chapel. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made payable to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left in care of the chapel.
