Parsons resident, Alma L. Nissen died Thursday, January 10, 2008 in Parsons, Kansas. She was 88. Alma was born October 26, 1919 in Hayes County, Nebraska to Willis and Viola Sawyer Orcutt. She married Niss Nissen on October 26, 1937 in Willow Springs, Missouri. They moved to Coffeyville in 1947 where they made their home. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1977. She worked at several locations over the years including the Southern Supper Club, Sidmans, Teds Grill, and also Caesars Club where she worked for seventeen years. Alma attended the Church of God where she was a member for several years. Alma is survived by her son, David Nissen of Parsons, Kansas; brother, Ralph Orcutt of Mexico, Missouri and sisters, Violet Spencer of Independence, Missouri and Clara Sharp of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and great-niece, Tammy Sunday. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Christian Nissen and brothers, Walter Orcutt, Floyd Orcutt, Noah Pete Orcutt. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will gather at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home one hour prior to service time for visitation.
