ANDREW GUS ANDY MAROS, JR. 1924 2007 ANDRES GUS ANDY MAROS, JR., AGE 82, ENTERED INTO REST ON JANUARY 19, 2007 AT THE COFFEYVILLE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, COFFEYVILLE, KS. HE WAS BORN OCTOBER 24, 1924 IN WICHITA, KANSAS TO GUS AND HAZEL MOUNT MAROS, SR. HE ATTENED SCHOOL IN WICHITA. IN 1945 HE ENTERED THE UNITED STATES NAVY SERVING IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC AND ALSO PEARL HARBOR, HAWII. HE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED IN 1949. AFTER BEING DISCHARGED HE WENT TO CALIFORNIA WHERE HE WORKED UNTIL 1957 WHEN HE RETURNED TO WICHITA, KANSAS. IN 1969 HE MOVED TO COFFEYVILLE, KANSAS. HE WAS EMPLOYED WITH A.R.K. WRECKING COMPANY, WHICH WAS TAKING PART IN URBAN RENEWAL. EARLY IN THE 1970S HE BEGAN WORKING FOR THE COFFEYVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT 445 MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT. HE RETIRED IN 1989. ON MARCH 5, 1972 HE MARRIED PAULINE ZIMMER IN COFFEYVILLE. THEY MADE THEIR HOME IN COFFEYVILLE. MRS. MAROS PRECEDED HER HUSBAND IN DEATH ON NOVEMBER 7, 1996 IN WINFIELD, KANSAS. ON SEPTEMBER 6, 1997 HE MARRIED MAE WEILAND CESSNA AT THE ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH IN COFFEYVILLE. THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO MAKE THEIR HOME IN COFFEYVILLE. MR. MAROS IS A MEMBER OF THE ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH. HE IS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE FULL GOSPEL MENS INTERNATIONAL, AMERICAN LEGION POST 20 COFFEYVILLE, V.F.W POST 1022 COFFEYVILLE, V.F.W. POST 70 KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, AND DELIVERED FOR THE MEALS-ON-WHEELS PROGRAM. MR. MAROS IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE MAE OF THE HOME. FOUR STEPSONS PHILIP JONES OF BARTLESVILLE, OKLAHOMA, BRUCE JONES OF BLUEJACKET, OKLAHOMA, STEVE JONES OF SOUTH COFFEYVILLE, OKLAHOMA, AND TOM JONES OF COFFEYVILLE, KANSAS ONE STEPDAUGHTER, LAURIE VERRATTI OF COFFEYVILLE, KANSAS. THIRTY-FOUR STEPGRANDCHILDREN AND FOURTEEN GREATGRANDCHILDREN. VISITATION WILL BE 9:00 A.M. UNTIL 9:00 P.M. MONDAY, JANUARY 22, 2007 AT THE PENWELL GABEL FORD WULF BRUNS CHAPEL 2405 WOODLAND AVENUE COFFEYVILLE, KANSAS. GRAVESIDE SERVICES WILL BE HELD 11:00A.M., TUESDAY JANUARY 23 2007 AT THE ROBBINS CEMETERY WEST OF COFFEYVILLE, KS. FAMILY WILL GATHER UNDER THE CEMETERY CANOPY PRIOR TO SERVICES. PASTOR DAVID BYCROFT WILL BE OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN ROBBINS CEMETREY WITH V.F.W. POST 1022 CONDUCTING MILITARY RITES.
