Bessie Mason

Bessie Leoma Mason Bessie L. Hart Mason, 93, of Coffeyville, passed away at Windsor Place Care Center of Coffeyville, May 22, 2010 at 6:45 a.m. Bessie was born on June 11, 1916 to Alexander Hart amp Betty Jane Funk Hart at Hiawassie, AR. She lived in Arkansas, Washington, New Mexico and Oklahoma as a child before moving to Coffeyville, KS. She worked at Page Milk Company during WWII and Electra Mfg. in Independence, KS during the early 6039s. Bessie married Lester Ralph Mason on Oct. 19, 1946 and resided in Tyro, Ks. until age 90 when she moved to Assisted Living in Coffeyville, KS. She was a member of the Tyro Christian Church and was active in Joy Group while living in Tyro and was also a 50 year member of The Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, her husband and one son Robert L. Mason. She is survived by two daughters, LaDonna Sue Brogan and husband, Tom of Spring, TX, Sonya Ann Hall and husband, David of Caney, KS. She has five grandchildren, Robert L. Mason, Jr., Michael T. Brogan and wife Sybrina, Matthew T. Brogan and wife Amanda, Carmen L. HardisonHall and husband Rob and Jason S. Hall. She also has four greatgrandchildren, Miranda Mason, Mason Hardison, Jonathan Brogan and Sara Brogan. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at PenwellGabels FordWulfBruns Chapel with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Interment will be in Robbins Cemetery, west of Coffeyville, under the direction of PenwellGabel Funeral Home amp Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday, noon until 8pm at the funeral home.
