Betty W. Campbell, 88, of Lawrence, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Betty was born November 27, 1920 at Fredonia, Kansas to Frank G. Brown, Sr. and Jennie M. Smith Brown. She grew up in the Coffeyville area and graduated from Coffeyvilles Field Kindley High School. She married Albert L. Campbell, Sr. in 1941. Betty was a homemaker and upon Mr. Campbells retirement in 1981, they built their dream home in Bella Vista, Arkansas and remained there until 1997, when they moved to Lawrence to be near family. Mr. Campbell preceded his wife in death on April 1, 1998. Betty enjoyed her family and her garden. She was also an avid seamstress and quilter. Betty was a member of Order of Eastern Star Coffeyville Chapter 112, Bella Vista Garden Club and Busy Bee Quilters Club. She was of the Christian faith. Survivors include one son, Albert Campbell, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Maurepas, Louisiana; two daughters, Bertie Campbell of San Francisco, California and Margo Szabo and her husband, Robert of Lawrence; two brothers, Delbert Brown of Topeka, Kansas and Richard Brown of Ozark, Alabama; a sister, Jeanetta Reed of Rose Hill, Kansas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; by two brothers, Frank Brown, Jr. and G Tom Brown and by one sister, Juanita Waite. Funeral service will be held 3:30 P.M., Friday, April 17, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with Worthy Matron Diane Watson officiating. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon-3:00 P.M., Friday. Family and friends may send online condolences at www.penwellgabel.com .
