Betty Louise Kastler Clark Betty Louise Kastler Clark, age 81, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 27 after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 1:00 pm at the church of Christ in Coffeyville, KS with internment at 3:30 pm in Cherryvale at the Fairview cemetery. A family visitation and viewing time will be Friday, April 29th from 6:00 8:00 pm at PenwellGabel Funeral Home. Betty was born to Charles Theodore and Josie Loretta Rosson Kastler on March 5, 1930 at their home three and a half miles south of Valeda, KS in Nowata County Oklahoma. She attended first through eighth grades at Thompson School, a country school in the Thompson Community. In 1941 she began attending high school in Valeda and completed her Freshman and Sophomore years at Valeda, and then completed her Junior and Senior years at Labette County High School in Altamont with graduation from LCHS in 1945. Betty attended and graduated from Coffeyville Junior College in 1947. After college, her first job was with Parkersburg Rig amp Reel Company where she worked for 2 years as a secretary. Following her marriage to Jesse Neil Clark on January 1, 1950, the couple moved to Omaha, NE and then to Sacramento, CA where Neil worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Betty and Neil moved back to the Coffeyville area in 1952 and then moved to Red Rock, OK in 1962 where Neil worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. Betty began working as a secretary for the Red Rock School in 1966 and retired from this position in 1989. Not only was she a great secretary for the school, but many students and teachers enjoyed a peppermint candy from her secret stash. She then moved back to Coffeyville and worked in the healthcare field for a few years, and began working as the Secretary for the Coffeyville church of Christ in 1998 where she continued until April, 2010. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Neil Clark in 1971. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers Chet, Dale and LeroyPossie and sister Maxine as well as by her greatgranddaughter Faith Byrd. She and Neil always wanted a big family. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Linda and her husband Cliff Albright, Susan and her husband E.D. King , as well as her two sons, Stephen and his wife Becky, Jeff and his wife Elaine, plus our dear family friend, Wayne Brown and his wife Shirley, and ten grandchildren Michael Clark and his wife Katy, Melody Clark Byrd and her husband Gavan, Kody King and his wife Ginny, Kasey King and his wife Ashley, Myra Clark, Courtney Clark, Neil Albright, Maddie Clark, Kellen King and Jessamyn Albright and three greatgrandchildren Jaylen Byrd, Macy Clark, and Rosson Byrd with a great grandson soon to be born. Betty became a believer in Christ as a young adult and has been a member of the church of Christ since 1951. She participated in several mission trips and was especially supportive of evangelistic efforts in South Africa and the work of Les and Audra Williams. She primarily attended the church of Christ in Perry, OK and Coffeyville, KS. Her favorite bible passage was Ephesians 1: 3 10. She was a prayer warrior, especially on behalf of her family, and each day gave thanks to God for blessing her so richly.
