Beverly Arlene Brakhage age 83 of Coffeyville, passed away on August 1, 2018 at Windsor Place.
Known as Arlene to most was born on August 28, 1934 in Coffeyville to Earl and Lydia (Beam) Lewis. The family lived on a farm outside of Coffeyville; that is where hard work was instilled that would stay a constant in Arlene's life. She would help with milking and driving the tractor out in the field from a very young age. As a family they always enjoyed gathering to sing and play, Arlene played the mandolin. She attended Coffeyville schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School where she was a member of the Robed Choir, drum and bugle corps and the academic honor society. Arlene worked in various roles for different companies in the bookkeeping, administrative, and accounting. She retired from the Morrow Foundry as an accountant. She was united in marriage to Everett Brakhage on November 14, 1969 at St Paul's Lutheran Church. Arlene was a quiet and reserved lady who always had her house in order, everything had its place. She enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery, and loved taking the boat out with Everett to go crappie fishing. Arlene cherished her grandchildren and always made sure to get everyone together for holidays.
