Bill Dean Nutter, 79, of Coffeyville, Kansas died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 4, 1930 in Peru, Kansas to Herbert L. and Oleta J. Smith Nutter. His family moved to Coffeyville, Kansas in 1935 and Bill attended Coffeyville Public Schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1948. Bill enlisted in the US Air force following graduation and served during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1952 and returned to Coffeyville where he began working as a machinist for Funk Manufacting in 1959 and remained there until his retirement in 1978. Bill was a member of VFW Post no. 1022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Survivors include: son Charles Nutter of Georgetown, Texas, daughters Debra Floys of Phoenix, Arizona, Donna O39Dell of Independence, Kansas, sister Connie James of St. Louis, Missouri, six grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Mr. Nutter has been cremated. PenwellGabel Funeral Home of Coffeyville, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
