Billy Jones

Billy Joe Jones of Dearing, KS, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by friends. Billy fought a brave fight with cancer and is now with his Lord and savior. Billy was born July 11, 1933, in Coffeyville, to Charles and Freda Jones. During his younger years he lived in Independence, Nebraska, Pittsburg, and Longton, KS, where he completed his schooling. After serving two years in the United States Army in the early 50’s, he then went to work for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. There he developed a love for coin collecting and in 1962 opened a coin shop in Oswego. After his dad passed away, he and his mother moved to Coffeyville, around 1972, where he opened a small collectable store. He married Jeane Pflug in 1985 and the pair moved to Dearing. Jeane passed in 2000 and Billy continued his business until 2019.
