Brenda Mcpherson

Brenda Kay McPherson age 61 passed away on September 23, 2020 at Shawnee Gardens Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Shawnee, Kansas.

Brenda was born in Wellington, Kansas on February 24, 1959 to George and Lydia (Haury) McPherson. She was raised in Longton and attended local schools graduating from Elk Valley High School. Brenda continued her education in Wichita where she earned her nursing license. Brenda met John Hernandez and the couple was united in marriage. They were blessed with a son Manuel and the couple later divorced. Brenda was proud of her accomplishments as a nurse; her caring heart made her a natural care giver. She worked many years at the Robert J Dole VA Medical Center. Brenda enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, being around her family, and talking on the phone with her family and friends. Brenda was a Strong person who never backed down from anything, she never gave up.

Brenda’s memories live on with her son Manuel Hernandez and his wife Christina, her sisters; Georgia Crowell, Judy Wilson and LaVita Diem and her husband Joey, and grandchildren; Leif, Jazmin, and Trystan Hernandez

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Carma Edmondson

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 10:00am at the Howard United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
