C Knisley

C.L. Knisley, 54, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, died Monday night, August 3, 2009 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. C.L. was born November 26, 1954 at Coffeyville, Kansas to Clifford Louis Knisley and Dollie Ann Sitsler Knisley. He grew up in South Coffeyville and attended Snow Creek and South Coffeyville schools, before graduating from Lenapah OK High School. C.L. was a welder and pipe-fitter and was a member of Local Union 430 out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He retired in 2007 due to health reasons. C.L. was well known in Northeast Oklahoma and Southeast Kansas for his extraordinary cooking ability and his barbeque was locally famous. As a lifelong resident of the South Coffeyville area, he cooked for several organizations, for funeral dinners and for his many friends. C.L. donated his time and talents to everyone he knew. He enjoyed playing pool, deer and bird hunting and fishing, especially for spoonbill. C.L. was also fond of kids, and they of him. He was a member of the Coffeyville American Legion and had attended Emmanuel Chapel Pentecostal Church in South Coffeyville. C.L. married Deborah Stamper on April 15, 2006 at Las Vegas, Nevada. Survivors are his wife, Deborah Knisley; his mother, Dollie; a brother, Tom Knisley and his wife, Sandy; two sisters, Becky Flanders and her husband, David and Jerrie Ann Dickson and her husband, Gordon; and a step-son, Brandon OConnell, all of South Coffeyville, numerous nieces and nephews and his cocker spaniel,Doc. C.L. was preceded in death by his father, Clifford on March 27, 2007. A memorial service will be held, 10 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2009 at Emmanuel Chapel Pentecostal Church in South Coffeyville with Reverend Jimmy Harrington officiating. Services are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
