Coffeyville resident, Calvin F. Harvey, Jr. died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 in Coffeyville. He was 86. Calvin F. Doby Harvey, Jr. was born May 19, 1921 to Calvin and Sara Heath Harvey in Coffeyville, Kansas. He grew up and attended rural schools at Pierson, Dearing and Field Kindley High School. On August 24, 1940, he married Dorothy M. Roberts in Lenapah, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in the Coffeyville area. Calvin entered the United States Army in 1945 and was stationed overseas in the Philippines and Hawaii. In 1947, he became the manager of the Coffeyville Stockyards. Later, he worked at Continental Can which later became Olin-Dixon Manufacturing. For part time work, he drove cattle trucks for his brother, Glen, who owned Harvey Trucking. In 1978, he went to work for Dixon Industries and retired from there in 1987. Calvin was a member of the Coffeyville Bible Church, the Masons and the VFW. The last few years he enjoyed going out for morning coffee with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home; son, Richard Harvey and wife, Nancy, of Coffeyville; daughter-in-law, Evva Harvey of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Crystal Rutherford and husband, Paul, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jennifer Storm and husband, Doug, of Owasso, Oklahoma, Tami Foster and husband, Billy, of Coffeyville and Stacey Marsh of Yukon, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Logan and Emily Foster, Colton Storm, Bronson and Jordan Brown and Mason Marsh; one niece and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glen; sister, Arlene and son, Donald. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. Pastor Wayne Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. Memorial contributions may be made to Coffeyville Bible Church. These may be left with the funeral home.
