Catherine Emily Murray, 87, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
Catherine was born on November 3, 1927 in Independence, Kansas to Harvey and Laura (Shook) Ranes. She grew up in Independence where she attended local schools.
On March 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Henry Arthur Murray in Coffeyville, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1986.
Catherine worked for ACC in Independence on circuit boards. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville. She enjoyed puzzle books, providing home care for those in need and loved helping people. Most of all she loved the time she spent with her family and friends.
Surviving to honor her memory are her daughters, Elizabeth Scott and Janet King both of Wichita, Kansas; her sons, Fred Murray of Sikeston, Missouri and Robert Murray of Coffeyville, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-laws, Karen Murray of Oklahoma and Linda Ranes of New Mexico.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four sons, George Murray, Ronald Murray, Edman Murray and Donald Ranes; son-in-laws, Rusty Scott and Henry King III; a brother, Paul Ranes and two sisters, Barbara Ranes and Ethel Cornett.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. The family will have a Graveside Memorial Service on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Randy DePriest will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made payable to the Coffeyville Salvation Army; these may also be left with the funeral home.
