Cathey Ann Joseph Hagebusch, 53, of Coffeyville, Kansas died Friday, February 5, 2010 at her home, following a long battle with cancer. She was born August 24, 1956 in Coffeyville to Garnet L. and Shirley A. Thurman Joseph. Cathey attended Coffeyville Public Schhols and later the Vocational Technical School in Coffeyville and Coffeyville Community College. In December of 1971 she married David Martin of Coffeyville and they had a son Justin. The couple divorced and in 1978 Cathey was married briefly to Allen Wooten of Duncan, Oklahoma. After many years of being single she married Carl Hagebusch Sr. on August 2, 1991 at the Central Church of the Nazarene. As a child Cathey was a Brownie Scout, Girl Scout and Rainbow Girl. She attended The First Church of the Nazarene. Cathey had a big heart, sense of humor, joy for life and loved adventure. She enjoyed her pets, traveling, camping, yard sales and riding motorcycles. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with her grandchildren and nephews. Cathey worked at many jobs during her lifetime including several years as office manager and driver for the family trucking company Flying H Hotshot of Coffeyville. She retired in 2002 due to her declining health. She was assistant secretary for the BTW Brothers of the Third Wheel, a three wheel motorcycle club that she belonged to. Cathey was preceded in death by her father in 1975. She is survived by her husband Carl of the home, her mother and stepfather Bob and Shirley Imoe, son Justin Martin, grandchildren Megan, Wyatt and Allyson Martin, stepchildren Carl Hagebusch Jr. and wife Nicole, stepgrandchildren Lindsay and Jaden and Lakrisha Hagebusch, brother David Joseph and wife Laura, nephews Matthew and Brandon, all from Coffeyville. Funeral services for Cathey Ann Hagebusch will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Coffeyville First Church of Nazarene followed by interment in Restlawn Cemetery in Coffeyville. She will lie in state at PenwellGabel Funeral Home in Coffeyville on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm. The family will receive guests at the Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register.
