Charles Colbert

Charles Colbert, 55, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 7, 1954 in Nowata County, Oklahoma to Willard Colbert and Mary H. Nelson Colbert. Charles worked for Vallis Form Services, Phillips Petroleum for twenty years and Spears Manufacturing for the past five years. He enjoyed Christian ministry and helping others learn about the bible. Charles was baptized as one of Jehovahs witnesses on March 27, 1976. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers: Ernest Leon Colbert and Jerry Eugene Colbert. Survivors include sisters Mary E. Colbert of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Verna Hutchinson and husband Herman of Vinita, Oklahoma, brothers Earl Colbert of Lenapah, Oklahoma and John Colbert of Parsons, Kansas. Funeral Services for Charles Colbert will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. Interment will follow at Hickory Creek Cemetery, North of Lenapah. Charles will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas from 1:00pm until 5:00pm on Tuesday, December 29th.
