Charles L. Newman Charles Le Roy Newman, age 67, longtime Coffeyville resident entered into rest on August 20, 2006 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas. Charles was born on May 14, 1939 to Ernest and Frances Clark Newman. He grew up and attended schools in Coffeyville and graduated from FKHS in 1958 and later served in the United States Army for 2 years. While attending high school he worked for Gene Hills service station on west eighth street. Upon his return from the service he went to work for Funk Mfg until his retirement in 1995 after 30 years. On October 8, 1972 he was united in marriage to Paula Baldauf. He enjoyed bowling, remodeling and woodworking. He was a loving husband, brother and friend. Survivors includes his loving wife Paula of the home, mother Frances Newman of Coffeyville, and 3 sisters. There are also several neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Ernest Newman and 2 brothers, his special cat Boomer. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Dr. Wayne Norton, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM to sign the guest register. Services are under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home of Coffeyville. Memorials may be made to AWOL,116 South 23rd., Independece KS 67301.
