Charles "Charlie" William Pruitt age 57, passed away on March 24, 2018 in Vinita, OK.
Charles William Pruitt was born on March 24, 1961 in Ponca City, OK to John Edward and Sarah (Lee) Pruitt. Charlie attended and graduated from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville, KS with the Class of 1979. Charlie then attended Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology earning his diploma as Aviation Maintenance Technician, as well as an Associates in Applied Sciences Degree, March 1981.
On September 19, 1981 Charlie married Kelly Dempsey in Coffeyville. Through the years the two welcomed three sons, Ethan, Lucas and Logan. Charlie worked as Chief of Maintenance, QuikTrip Flight Operations for 29 years. Charlie will be remembered for his love of camping, being outdoors, NASCAR, NHRA, dirt track racing, many types of music, collecting new and old guns and family cooking competitions of chili and BBQ. Most of all, Charlie loved the time he got to spend with his wife, children and grandchildren. Charlie will be remembered as the guy that would lend a helping hand to anyone, at any time.
Those left to cherish Charlie's memory include, wife, Kelly (Dempsey) Pruitt of Owasso, OK. Sons Ethan (wife Kristin) Pruitt of Owasso; Lucas (wife Destinee) Pruitt of Owasso, and Logan Pruitt of Owasso. Grandchildren, Blaslyn Ridge, Haidyn Pruitt, Karlye Pruitt, Austin Pruitt and Evan Pruitt. Brothers, Ed (wife Kathy) Pruitt of Collinsville, OK; John (wife LaDonna) Pruitt of Broken Arrow, OK. Sisters, Mary (husband Nyles) Davis of Wichita, KS, and Susan (husband Richard) Martin of Scottsdale AZ.
He will also be dearly missed by his precious pups - Louie, Gracie and Stella; and granddog, Dolly.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, John and Sarah Pruitt, formerly of Coffeyville, KS.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 1:00 pm, at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville, KS. Interment will immediately follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, KS. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Wednesday March 28, 2018 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Charlie's memory to the Tulsa SPCA; The Tulsa Air and Space Museum in Tulsa, OK, or the charity of your choice. Family and friends are encouraged to bring their favorite koozie to the funeral service, to be sent with Charlie to his final resting place.
