Charlotte Lee Neese, born on January 5, 1935 and originally from Coffeyville, KS, passed away on November 3, 2021 at the age of 86. Charlotte lived most of her life in Lawrence.
After retiring from AT&T after 30 years of service in building services, Charlotte took up oil painting and painted for over 30 years. Her passion was painting landscapes, but she also enjoyed painting animals, particularly birds and dogs. For over 20 years, she taught private oil painting classes to aspiring artists. Charlotte was a member of the Downtown Tuesday Painters and also played bridge and practiced Tai Chi. She loved to travel, and she loved her family dearly.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Clarence W. Neese; her mother, Thelma Allene (Norris) Neese; her son, Michael Landers; her brother, Clarence (Butch) Neese of The Red Dogs and The Rising Sun; and her sister, Betty Jo Sandon.
She is survived by two sons, Darren (Kim) Landers and Jerry (Erin Spiridigliozzi) Landers; five grandchildren, Jessie Franssen, Kyle Landers, Tony Landers, Carole Landers, and Jaclyn Landers; and four great grandchildren, Tommy and Tyler Stewart and Everett and Calihan Franssen.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Coffeyville, KS on Monday, November 8, 2021.
