Christopher Heighton

Christopher Eugene Heighton, 17, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in an automobile accident. Chris was born on August 23, 1990 in Foley, Alabama; the son of Neil and Lori Herrington Heighton. He and his family moved to South Coffeyville in 1999 where he attended South Coffeyville Schools and was to graduate on May 9th. He also attended Tri-County Tech in Bartlesville where he was studying medicine. Chris previously worked as a nurses aid and was more recently employed by Jamp; Ks Chop House in South Coffeyville. As a student, he enjoyed playing football. Surviving to honor his memory is his mother, Lori Heighton, of the home; sisters, Crystal Lee and husband, Dwayne, of Baytown, Texas and Ashley Heighton, of the home; grandmother, Juanita Herrington of Dayton, Texas; uncle, David Herrington and wife, Cyndi of Dayton, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Neil, and grandparents, Lillie Mae Heighton and Marion William Herrington. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008 in the gymnasium at the South Coffeyville High School in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. Friends may call on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home of Coffeyville, Kansas where the family will greet friends on that evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Chris to Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
