Coffeyville resident, Clara Casey entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 5, 2007. She was 97. Clara was born November 5, 1909 in Lenepah Oklahoma to George Edward and Della Lauren Adams Thorpe. She grew up and attended schools in Lenepah area. She married Hugh Maurice Casey on June 15, 1945 in Coffeyville. They made their home in Coffeyville where Mr. Casey, and his brother Edward owned and operated Casey Brothers service station on Eighth and Buckeye. Clara loved to bake and was well known for her professional wedding cakes, she also enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church. She is survived by three granddaughters Virginia, Lisa and Stefanie and a grandson John. She also has seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and a brother George Buddy Thorpe. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Jack Boling and seven brothers and sisters. Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 15, 2007 at Calvary Cemetery. Father Jerome Spexarth will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home to sign the guest register. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church. These may be left with the funeral home.
