Cleston Turner, 81, Coffeyville, Kansas, died early Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Via ChristiSt. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Cleston was born July 5, 1928 at Ozark, Arkansas to William Eli Turner and Nora Martin Turner. He grew up on his parents farm at Turner Bend on the Mulberry River. Cleston was one of 24 children. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, Cleston returned to Arkansas to work. He later moved to Coffeyville, taking a job with Continental Can. On August 9, 1963, he married Faye J. Stevens at Miami, Oklahoma. After Continental Can, Cleston drove trucks for Bray Trucking and Becker Truck Lines. He attended Amazing Grace Chapel in Coffeyville and loved camping at Big Hill and Oologah. Cleston also enjoyed word puzzle books andbabying his wife, Faye. Survivors include his wife, Faye of the home two sons, Brian Shy of Newton, KS and Cleston Dean Turner Joyce of Abilene, TX one brother, Roy Turner of Van Buren, Arkansas two sisters, Grace Winfield of Ozark, Arkansas and Joy Elsar of Altus, Arkansas one sisterinlaw, Carla Lewis Jesse of Independence, Kansas and a brotherinlaw, Robert Stevens Judy of Havana, KS ten grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren. Cleston was preceded in death by a son, Michael Eugene Turner by a daughter, Pamela Shy Whitmore and by 20 brothers amp sisters. Cleston has been cremated and a memorial service is planned for a later date at Amazing Grace Chapel.
