Clyde H. Peyton, 88, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at CRMC.
Clyde was born on May 3, 1926 in Liberty, Kansas to Clay and Halley Landrum Peyton. He grew up and went to school in Liberty. On August 1, 1944 he joined the United States Army. He proudly served his country earning the rank of Private 1st Class until his Honorable Discharge on July 2, 1946.
On December 24, 1948 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Pearl Ramsey in Coffeyville, Kansas. The couple made Coffeyville their home where together they raised five children. Clyde worked for Funk Manufacturing for over fifteen years as a painter until his retirement. He was a member of the Coffeyville V.F.W. Post 1022. His hobbies were old cars and fishing.
Surviving to honor his memory is his wife, Pearl of the home daughters, Peggy Sanford, Judy Romines and her husband Ron, Betty Hull and her husband Rusty, Cathy Frantz all of Coffeyville, Kansas a son, Billy Peyton and his wife Lyn of Dearing, Kansas fourteen grandchildren twenty five great grandchildren and one greatgreat grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Halley soninlawn, Mike Sanford brothers, Otis, Robert, Albert and Carl Peyton sisters, Lucy Hopkins, Mae Dick and Nettie Bickel.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Burial will follow at Mound Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made payable to the Meals on Wheels of Coffeyville these may also be left with the funeral home.
