Cordell Ricks, Sr.

Cordell Ricks Sr. Coffeyville resident, Cordell Ricks, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was 64. Cordell was born on August 30, 1943 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Hershel and Josephine Webber Ricks. He graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1961. He then moved to Wichita, Kansas where he was employed as a butcher for 16 years at the Cudahy Meat Plant. Cordell became disabled in 1973 before returning to Coffeyville in 1976. He is survived by one son, Cordell Ricks II of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughters, Carlene Ricks of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mary Farmer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tyresa Adair of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Ruby Ricks of Coffeyville, KS, Donna De La Cruz of Coffeyville, Kansas; sister, Ronnie Rhodes of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Cecil, Damon, Percy and Hershel Ricks; and one daughter, Roxanne Densen. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. Rev. Virgil Horn, Jr. will officiate. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville to sign the guest register.
