Coyle B. Turney 1918 - 2006 Coyle B. Turney, age 87, South Coffeyville, Oklahoma resident entered into rest on Thursday evening, May 11, 2006 at his residence. He was born July 27, 1918 in Nowata, County to Norman D. and Gertrude Thompson Turney. He attended York Elementary School and Lenapah High School. He married Frances Carson on December 1, 1940 in the parsonage of the Pleasant View Church of God. His marriage to Frances lasted for 65 years. They lived their entire lives on their farm. He worked briefly at Acme Foundry and the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Mr. Turney was a Farm Bureau Insurance Agent and served on the Soil Conservation Boards, but he was first and foremost a farmer and was very proud of his profession. He was a member of the Pleasant View Church of God where he had been a Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Turney is survived by: One son: Larry Turney, Rural So. Coffeyville, Ok. Two Daughters: Kathy Gillman and husband Billy Don, Coffeyville, Ks. Phyllis Willis and husband Bob, Lenapah, Ok. 9 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren Brother: Dale Turney of Bartlesville, Ok. Two Sisters: Wanda Weldon of Midwest City, Ok.; LaHoma Nigh, Spartanburg, S.C. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances on February 11, 2006, his parents, a sister, Jewell Mullins, a grandson, Stephen Willis and a daughter-in-law, Sharron. Calling hours will be on Sunday, May 14, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2006 at the Lain Cemetery located 6 miles south of Valeda, Kansas. The Rev. Wayne Norton will be presiding.
