Danielle Tongier

Danielle Loy Tongier 1987 -2006 Danielle Loy Tongier, age 18, entered into rest on Saturday, June 10, 2006 in Costa Rica, while on a Spanish Club trip. She was born December 18, 1987 in Topeka, Kansas. Daughter of Tom and Joan Carter Tongier. She was a 2006 graduate of Labette County High School, Altamont, Kansas. She was a National Honor Society Member. She was a candidate for Valedictorian. She was active in Drama amp; Spanish Club. Danielle had received a KU Honor Scholarship and was enrolled to attend the University of Kansas this summer. She was planning on majoring in theatre and spanish at KU. Danielle was active in Girl Scouts of America. She is survived by her parents, Tom and Joan Tongier of Altamont, Kansas; Grandmother, Mary Carter, Coffeyville, Kansas. Several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Max and Betty Tongier; Maternal grandfather, Harold Carter. A Celebration of Life Services for all of the friends and loved ones lost in the Costa Rica tragedy will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006 in the Parsons Municipal Auditorium in Parsons, Kansas. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2006 in the First Christian Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Tom Reazin will officiate and burial will follow in the the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-9 pm and on Friday from 9AM until 9PM at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville to sign the guest register.
