David Lee Burris, 60, of Coffeyville died Monday Oct. 5, 2015 at Jane Phillips Medical Center, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
He was born June 22, 1955, at Mercy Hospital in Parsons, to Robert Burris and Louanne Rude. He attended Parsons and Coffeyville schools during his youth.
He joined the Navy during the Vietnam War, serving aboard the USS Caliente (AO-53) before receiving an honorable discharge.
On March 4, 1975, he married Milagros Manalastas in Olongapo City, Philippines. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
After the Navy, he spent much of his career in various roles at the Jencast foundry in South Coffeyville, Okla., in addition to raising a family. In his retirement he enjoyed the outdoors, raising dachshunds and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Milagros, of the home; five siblings, including Joy (Manuel) Saucedo of Edna, Alan Eales of California, Denis Stuckey of Dearing, Denise Stuckey of Cherryvale and LaDona Petch of South Coffeyville, Okla.; five children, including Edgardo Jacinto of the Philippines, Rolando Jacinto of the Philippines, John Burris of Lawrence, Maria (Gavin) Olds of Burleson, Texas and David Burris, Jr. of Coffeyville; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Kevin, of the Philippines.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Burial Services will be at the Veterans Memorial Patio with a private interment at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. To leave the family an online condolence visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
