David A. Dobson Jr. David Albert Dobson Jr. of Coffeyville, KS, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at his home. He was 53. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at the First Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. The Reverend James Crandall will officiate. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, KS. Friends may call to register on Wednesday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. The family may be contacted at the home of Jeffrey Dobson, 409 W. New in Coffeyville. The son of David Albert and Betty Wilson Dobson Sr., he was born Feb. 4, 1954, in Independence, KS. He moved to Coffeyville with his parents in 1962 and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1972. He received further education at Coffeyville Community College and the Coffeyville Vo-Tec School. Mr. Dobson was employed at Emerson Electric in Independence, KS, Spears Manufacturing, Morrow Foundry, Acme Foundry and finally at John Deere Coffeyville Works where he was a heat treat worker. On July 1, 1977, he was united in marriage to Shirley Bryant in Coffeyville. She preceded him in death July 29, 2002. He was a member of the First Assembly of God, a former member of the Church of the Nazarene and UAW Local 2366. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Dobson of Coffeyville and Michael Dobson of the home; his parents, David and Betty Dobson Sr. of Coffeyville; one brother, Jerry Dobson of Dearing, KS; and three sisters, Janet Ross of Coffeyville, Diana Barton of Humboldt, KS, and Debra Bauder of St. James, MO.
