David Lawrence

David Lee “Coal Train” Lawrence was born on December 17, 1964, in Ruleville, Mississippi to the late Eddie Lawrence and Valder H. (Hudnall) Lawrence.  At the age of 57 David departed from his life on earth.

David attended Ruleville Central Grade School in Ruleville, Mississippi and Lenapah High School in Lenapah, Oklahoma where he graduated.

David was active in FFA in High School also in football where he got the name “Coal Train” from.

David loved working on cars and scrapping junk was his main hobby.  David also loved rescuing dogs which he started at a young age.

If you knew David never left without telling you he Loved, You.

David leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Viola “Vee-vee” Lawrence of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Eddie Lawrence III and David Hudnall; four sisters, Jiffie Sweeney, Viola (Robert) West, Mary Butler, Ruby Hawkins all of Coffeyville, Kansas; a host of nieces, nephews extended relatives and friends.  David was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Memorial service will be held to celebrate David’s life on April 2, 2022, at 11 am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas, with Pastor Robert West officiating.  The family has requested donations be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.   The family will have a private inurnment at Fairview Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his parents.   To leave an online condolence or share a memory visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
