David A. Mason passed away on March 10, 2021 at the age of 74 in his home in Dearing, Kansas.
David was born on February 2, 1947 to Emma Lue Burget in Coffeyville, Kansas. David grew up in Coffeyville where he completed his education. David worked in restoration and water proofing in the Omaha, Nebraska area. Before moving back to his hometown of Coffeyville, KS., where he continued to work in restoration and water proofing commuting to Tulsa, OK until he gained employment with John Deere. He retired from John Deere in 2015 after 10 years of employment. David was also a member of the Bricklayers Union in the Allied Craftworkers Local 5 out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
David had a love for living life, his kids, and grandkids. He enjoyed going to the gym, riding his motorcycle, driving with the convertible top down in his Mustang, traveling, going to the beach, tanning, and tending to a collection of plants. He had a very strict eating schedule and enjoyed eating out and trying new foods. David despised cold weather though he continued to wear shorts year-round, he loved the morning sunrise and the warmth it provided.
He will forever be remembered best by his sister Sondra; his children; Shannon Mason, Chris Mason and Judibeth, Michael Mason and Elizabeth, Kari Morgan and Jim; grandchildren, Shayden Mason, Shaylene Mason, Shyla Northup, Brianna Mason, Ashley Mason, Amanda Mason, Madison Mason, Harley Mason, Emmery Mason, Parker and Presley, Matthew Morgan, Spencer Morgan, and Chandler Davis; great grandchildren, Myla Mason, Vincent Mason, Jackson Northup, Brynlee Mason, Brooks Northup. He was preceded in death by his mother Emma Lue and brother Jeff Burget.
A Memorial Service celebrating David’s life will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. The service will be streamed live via Facebook Live on the Ford-Wulf-Bruns page starting just before 1 on Saturday. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 19 from 6 to 8 pm also at the chapel. Facial masks are requested for the protection of our families and staff. Memorials may be made to assist the family with unexpected expenses and may be left in care of the chapel.
