Dee Ann Kay Carrico, 78, of Edna, Kansas went to meet her Lord and Savior on September 8, 2020 at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Dee Ann was born to Joe and Cleo (Huffman) McDonald on January 30, 1942. Dee Ann is the oldest of three girls. As a child, she suffered from Polio. She was one of the first ones to receive a vaccine. Dee Ann lived her childhood life in Bartlesville, Oklahoma graduating from College-High School in 1960. She spent her childhood summers enjoying the lake life with her parents at Hulah Lake skiing and boating.

Dee Ann worked at Phillips 66 as an elevator girl. She earned a secretarial certificate from Coffeyville Community College. She worked as a secretary for in House of Representatives in Oklahoma City.

She married, Danny Carrico, and they settled in South Coffeyville.  They then moved to Edna where they were blessed with a son, David.

She was a member of the Gregory Ann Chapter of the National Secretaries Association. She served as an office professional for multiple companies which included USD 506 Labette County School District, Daniels Construction, Western Publishing, Sherwin Williams, and E-Z Go Golf Carts. She worked in the customer service department for Superior School Supply from which she retired in 2006.

When she was younger, Dee Ann enjoyed spending the summers rodeoing with her family, her nieces and nephews visiting, and traveling.  She particularly loved her trips to California to see her sister.  Since retirement, Dee Ann has enjoyed being a member of Pleasant View Church of God, Edna Civic Organization, and Edna Senior Citizen Meal Committee. She loved to walk and go out to eat with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Danny, her father, mother, a brother-in-law, Jack Carrico, a nephew, Colby Seger, and a niece, Ava Riley. She is greatly loved by her family whom she adored.  She has left behind her beloved son, David, his wife, Deena, and their son, Denton. In addition, she dearly loved her twin sister, Jo Ann Jones, and life companion, Carl Reeves,  her daughters, Jody, Janie, Julie, and Joni, and their spouses, John Fankhauser and Stephen Reilly, and children Jarret and Jenna Fankhauser, Christopher Natividad, Stephanie Pelton, Matthew Navarro, Melissa Romo, Zachary and Damien Reilly, Heather Hunter, and Brady Reilly.  Her much loved Carrico side includes, Ann and Danny Seger, and their children, Jake and Amanda Seger, and McKenzie and Chris Haley, and Pam Carrico, and her children, Angie and Gregg Riley, and Kristen and Brian Howarth. She also leaves behind cousins Mike Huffman, and Mike and Jacque McDonald. She had many great-great nieces and nephews. So many of these family members spent time with our parents as children and adults. They were so loved by us all.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at North Edna Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas 67337 beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 and the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m that evening. The family request Memorial Contributions be made payable to one of Dee Ann’s three loves: Pleasant View Church of God, Edna Civic Organization(ECOs) c/o Sharon Bozman, or the Denton Carrico College Fund @ Community National Bank in Edna, these can be left in care of the chapel.  To leave an online message of condolence please visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
