Della Mae Warner, age 89, was born March 22, 1920 to Ora and Ellem Penter at Prior, Missouri. She attended country schools until the 8th grade with her two brothers Ova and Leland as her teachers. She attended high school at Mountain Grove and Ava, Missouri and graduated from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville in 1938. On November 24, 1938, she married Clifford Warner at Ava, Missouri. They had two children, Carol Marie born December 21, 1940 and Dale, born August 24, 1942. During her life, she was a homemaker, Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader and worked at Nu Way Food Liner in Coffeyville for 18 years. Della had numerous passions in life, including fishing, camping with the Chief Black Dog Club where she served as both President and Devotional leader. She served as President of the Roosevelt Junior High PTA. She was devotional chairman of the auxiliary of the VFW, a life member and President many times of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She loved gospel music and Elvis. Her church was always an important part of her life. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Mr. Ararat Baptist Church in Missouri. Later, for many years she was a member of Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Dellas husband Clifford served as a Communications Officer in the Army Air Corps during World War II. They lived at Duncan Field in San Antonio, Will Rogers Field, and Tinker Field in Oklahoma City and later moved back to Coffeyville in 1946, where Clifford established a radio and television business. Clifford passed away in 1982. Survivors are her son, Dale and his wife, Emma of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Andali Foster and her husband, Tim of Coffeyville; Laurie Ellen and her husband, Tom Feldkamp of Abilene, Kansas; Mark Crocket of Santa Monica, California; Kristen Warner and her husband, Steve Birge of Lantana, Florida; Leslie and Dr. Peter Painter of Pompano Beach, Florida; and Rebecca Warner of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Roxie and her husband, Benny Bellard of Eunice, Louisiana. Great-grandchildren are Paige and Andy Painter of Pompano Beach, Florida; Darla Foster and Tony Foster, both of Coffeyville and Travis and his wife, Melanie Foster of Coffeyville. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a daughter, Carol Marie on October of 1999. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with Rev. Wayne Martin officiating. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel39;s Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and the family will receive guests from 6-7 p.m.
