Devery Mae Hilderbrand, 92, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at CRMC. Devery was born October 21, 1918 in Craig County, Oklahoma to Charlie and Louisa Frantz Transue. She grew up in the Craig County area where she attended school. On January 30, 1937 she was united in marriage to Ed Hilderbrand in Coffeyville, Kansas where the couple made their home. Devery worked as a welder during the war, and then worked as a seamstress for RokAChair for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, family picnics and time with her family. She is survived by her grandchildren, Clint Hilderbrand and wife, Chris of Edna, Ks, Jeff Hilderbrand and wife, Lea of Edna, Ks, Debbie Doherty of Jay, Ok brothers, Calvin Transue of rural Coffeyville, Ks, Leo Transue and wife, Nancy of Edna, Ks sisters, Letha Hilderbrand of Udall, Ks, Ruth Ames of rural Coffeyville, Ks five greatgrandchildren and ten greatgreatgrandchildren. Devery was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Louisa loving husband, Ed son, Charles Hilderbrand brother, Aaron Transue and sisters, Pearl Gillespie and Charlotte Cox. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the North Edna Cemetery at the cemetery shelter. Friends may call on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
