Dixie Sharon Triebel-Pannier

In the comfort of her loving family's embrace, Dixie Sharon Triebel Pannier departed this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in her home in Edna, Kansas.

Born to Leonard and Williamette (Cobb) Knight in the quaint town of Cherryvale, Kansas, Dixie ran and played in Edna alongside her beloved siblings, Jerry and Judy. The foundation of her knowledge was laid within the warm walls of Edna schools, where she completed her education from Edna High School, where friendships were forged that would last a lifetime.

On a magical New Year’s Eve in 1959, Dixie wed the love of her life, Paul Triebel, creating a home filled with warmth and laughter in Edna. Together, they nurtured their three children, Paula, Dan, and Debbie. With unwavering dedication, Dixie balanced her roles as a fulltime homemaker, tax preparer, and bookkeeper, embodying the essence of hard work and love.

After the untimely passing of Paul in 1995, Dixie sought solace in West Branson, Missouri, a place that had captured her heart since childhood. There, love found her once more when she met Ken Pannier. However, the call of family was strong, and around a decade ago, she returned to Edna, enveloped once again by the love of her family, which she held dear to her heart.

A woman of profound determination and independence, Dixie led a life rich in passion. Each summer, her garden flourished under her dedicated care, providing not just sustenance but also joyful moments as she canned her harvest. Her artistic spirit shone through in her woodworking, a testament to her skillfulness and creativity. Known for her selflessness, she consistently lent a helping hand to those in need.

Dixie leaves behind her cherished children: Paula Morrison (Gary), Dan Triebel (Susan), and Debbie Ele (Rick); her grandchildren, Paul Douglas (Rachel), Jarod Douglas, Nicole Ogden (Stephen), Rachael Rector (Jerry), Joe Triebel, and Ian Triebel; and twelve great-grandchildren whose lives she filled with love and wisdom. She joins her parents, husband, and beloved granddaughter Sidney Douglas in eternal rest, alongside her siblings Jerry Knight and Judy Fromm, who have also preceded her.

A graveside service to honor Dixie’s remarkable life will be held under the care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 1:30pm North Edna Cemetery, alongside her beloved husband Paul.
