Donald Davis

Donald L. Davis of Coffeyville passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at his home. He was born March 21, 1940 in Pryor, OK to Lee Carl Davis and Opal Blanche Henry Davis. He grew up in Coffeyville where he graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving two years and received his honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Sharon Merrick and of that union a daughter was born. The couple later divorced. He worked as a manager for Phillips Petroleum assisting numerous filling stations until his retirement in 1998. On January 6, 1999 he was united in marriage to Connie L. Cape in Coffeyville, KS. Donald was a former member of the American Legion Post 20 and the Masonic Lodge. He loved watching Nascar an was a race car driver in the 1980s for about five years. He raced hobby stock and his race car number was 02. He was also an avid sports fan especially enjoying OU Sooners and watching Tiger Woods play golf. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie of the home daughters, Tina M. Hansen and husband Clint, Brenda K. Rogers, all of Coffeyville, Gina L. Hollaman of Chelsea, OK brother, Gary L. Davis and wife Gloria of Coffeyville sister, Lois Williams and husband Don of Adair, OK seven grandchildren and twelve greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Opal brothers, James L. Davis and Larry D. Davis. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Brother John Lockaby will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, these may be left with the funeral home. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
