Donald Lee Hanna, 64 of Carthage, Missouri passed away June 1, 2013 at his home. He had bravely battled colon cancer for the past two years.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Coffeyville, Kansas with Rev. Richard Peckman and Pastor James Schnackenberg officiating. Interment will be at Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of FordWulfBruns Chapel. Friends may sign the register Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8 pm at the Chapel.

The family has suggested memorials be made in Dons memory to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Carthage, Missouri, St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Coffeyville, Kansas or Avalon Hospice of Joplin, Missouri.

Donald was born April 14, 1949 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Lewis Hanna and Lucille Brakhage Hanna. He was raised in Coffeyville, Kansas and was a 1967 graduate of Field Kindley High School. He was employed at Funk Mfg. Co in 1968. He remained at Funks and later known as Funk Mfg. Division of John Deere for 32 years before retiring in 2000.

He was united in marriage, on February 22nd, 1969 to Judith Ann Owen daughter of the late Frank J. Owen and K Owen of Coffeyville. They had two sons, Brock Joseph Hanna of Carthage and Chad Everett Hanna and his wife, Stephanie of Carl Junction, Missouri. They have five grandchildren and one great grandson. He has a sister, Connie Rae Bossman and husband Clyde of Afton, Oklahoma two brothers, Everett Hanna and wife Patti of Grove, Oklahoma, Robert Hanna and wife Lisa of Ardmore, Oklahoma sistersinlaws Jo and Jim Falkner and Jane and Paul Vesey, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don and Judy moved to Carthage, Missouri in 2002 to be closer to their grandkids who he dearly loved. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and going to auctions. While in Coffeyville he coached Little League Baseball, Farm and PonyColt and the Rockies. He loved sports of all kinds, especially CCC Football and KU. Don was baptized at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Coffeyville and transferred to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Carthage Missouri.
