Donald Haymaker

Donald LeRoy Haymaker age 76, passed away on November 29, 2018 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Don was born on November 10, 1942 in Hennessey, Oklahoma to Wayne and Clara Bell (Anderson) Haymaker his parents later divorced. At an early age Don and his family relocated to Kansas area where he attended school at both Dearing and Liberty. Don married Ilene Moore and of that union three daughters were born, the couple later divorced. Don shared the last 23 years of his life with his wife, Georgina "Jo" Haymaker still of the home.

Don returned to his Oklahoma roots as a young adult and starting working in the oil fields. That career led to travels all over the world; he spent several years working in Saudi Arabia. Don was a hard worker, upon returning to Kansas he worked various jobs including helping his step father, Hubert Foust and brother, Harold Haymaker, his last place of employment was with Midwest Plastics in Cherryvale where he also retired. Don enjoyed sharing stories about his travels, fishing, hunting, watching TV and keeping to himself. Things that most wouldn't have known about Don was that he enjoyed playing sports, and he was quite good at high jumping.

Those left to share memories of the life of Don is his wife, Jo Haymaker; daughters, Debbie and her husband Alan Long; Sheri and husband Jack Anthony; siblings, Harold Haymaker and wife Karen, Rex Haymaker and wife Judy, Sheila and husband Bryron Guinn, Billy Jo Haymaker; step children, James Floyd Stilley II and Patricia Stilley; nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren; brother in law, Johnny Rains; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by, his mother, Clara Fouts and step father, Hubert Fouts, his dad, Wayne Haymaker and step mother, Ann (Knight) Haymaker; daughter, Pam Burt, his siblings; infant twin, sisters, Florene Fay Rains and Nellie Tice and a step son, Timothy Paugh.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave. at 2pm, with Don's brother, Pastor Rex Haymaker officiating. Burial will follow at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. The family has requested memorial contributions be made payable to Dearing Christian Church in his memory, contributions may be left in care of the chapel.
