Donald Joseph Lank, age 80 of Coffeyville, Kansas met his Lord and Savior at 2:02 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
Born January 1, 1937 in Ellsworth, Kansas to Joseph F. and Emilie L. (Mattes) Lank, he was raised in Holyrood, Kansas on his family farm. He attended Holyrood High School, was active in football, basketball and track and graduated in 1955. He entered Kansas State University, earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. He was active in the Engineer's Club, collegiate 4-H and was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He graduated in 1961.
He was employed by Farmland Industries, and served as plant manager for 35 years. He is remembered for his love and dedication to his family and friends, golf, hunting, fishing and the Kansas State Wildcats.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Helen Gayle (Roberts) Lank of the home, son, Donald Alan Lank; daughter, Deana Michelle Reiner all of Coffeyville, Kansas; daughter, Camela Dawn Ruch of Joplin, Missouri; 5 grandchildren and Bassett hound, Blossom. He was a loving brother to siblings, Janet Peppiatt, Marilyn Homolka, Linda Heitschmidt and Terry Lank.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10:00 am at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Randy DePriest officiating as well as Chaplain Keith Spring with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
