Dr. Donald C. White, MD, age 89, peacefully passed away at his residence in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Born on October 11, 1935, to Charles and Viola (Foeher) White in Rochester, New York, Donald was the eldest of two brothers. He shared his childhood with his brother, William "Billy" White. His parents later divorced, and his father remarried a little later he and Billy welcomed two half-siblings, Mike White and Patricia White into the family. Within time their mother also remarried, becoming Mrs. Viola Whitaker. 

From the age of 12, Donald demonstrated an admirable work ethic, maintaining various jobs throughout his youth until his eventual retirement. He graduated from high school in Rochester, New York and went on to pursue higher education at the University of Rochester, financing his studies through employment and scholarships. Upon earning his undergraduate degree, he joined Eastman Kodak as a chemist.

In 1961, Donald embarked on a new journey in medicine by enrolling at Syracuse University College of Medicine in Syracuse, New York where he also participated in cancer research. During his time at Syracuse, New York he met his future wife, Joan Marie Gato, a registered nurse. The couple married in 1963. Upon graduation in 1965, Donald began his internship at San Francisco General Hospital under the auspices of the University of California. While in San Franciso he and Joan also welcomed their first-born son John. However, in 1966, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Donald served in Würzburg, Germany, where he was joined by Joan and son, John. While in Germany their youngest son David was born. His military service concluded where he was honorably discharged as a Major in the 3rd Infantry Division in 1969.

After returning to civilian life, Donald completed his residency in California. He then moved his family to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to finalize his three-year residency in Radiology. In 1973, he relocated to Coffeyville, Kansas, where he began a rewarding career at Coffeyville Medical Center, later known as Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. After 42 years of dedicating service to the community, he retired. In September 2023, he was honored with an induction into the CRMC Hall of Fame for his commitment and contributions to the institution.

Dr. Donald C. White MD is survived by his loving wife, Joan; son, John White; grandchildren, Jessica White and Alex Cinq-Mars; and half-brother, Mike White. He was preceded in death by his parents, son David, brother Billy White, and half-sister Patricia.

The family welcomes friends to pay their respects on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 3 to 5 PM at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, located at 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville. Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Name Catholic Church, 406 Willow, Coffeyville, Kansas at 2pm following Rosary at 1:30pm on Monday, February 24, 2025, with Father Schibi officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville where he will be laid to rest next to his son David. For those wishing to memorialize Dr. White's life the family request contributions to be made payable to CRMC Foundation, these funds will be appropriated to the radiology for future improvements in the radiology department.  Contributions may be left in care of the chapel.  To leave an online condolence or share a memory please visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
