Doris G. England 1919 2007 Doris G. England, age 87, entered into rest on January 11, 2007 at Windsor Place, Coffeyville, Kansas. She was born September 24, 1919 to Kathryn Moberly and Frank Powell in Hominy, Oklahoma. She moved with her family to Coffeyville in 1932. She graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1937. She also graduated from Coffeyville Junior College 1940. She worked for S amp; H Kress Company while attending High School and College. On December 20, 1941 she married L.E. Gene England in San Antonio, Tx.. She worked at Clossens Ready to wear in the office from 1942 to 1946 while Gene was overseas in the Army. She was an active member of the First Christian Church, Coffeyville. She was also a long time member of the Chancel Choir and Womens CWF and a member of the Serapine Singers. She also played the piano for Day Star Sunday School Class. Survivors include: Husband, Gene England of Coffeyville, One Daughter, Donna Freeman and Husband Buddy, Bernice, Ok.; One Son, Marvin England and Wife Mary Beth, Coffeyville. Four Grandchildren, Stoney Shutte Carissa, Beth England, Michelle Jamison Dennis, Ron Eden, Eight Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Carson Powell and one infant brother, Glen Powell. Calling hours visitation: Mrs. England will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., January 12, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville. Family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, 10:30 a.m., January 13, 2007 at the First Christian Church. Rev. J.E. Reynolds and Rev. Gerald Morris will be officiating. Burial follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville, Ks. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Christian Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice both of Coffeyville in lieu of flowers.
