Doris Melton

Doris Melton 1910 - 2006 Doris Melton, age 95, Coffeyville, Kansas resident entered into rest on April 27, 2006 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas. She was born June 8, 1910 to William and Freda Zimmerman Bonham in Coffeyville, Kansas. Mrs. Melton worked for various companies in the Coffeyville community including, Armstrong Creamery, Sears, CRMC as a Dietician. She also ran a Daycare for 10 years. She was a member of the Dearing Christian Church and was a Lifetime member of the VFW Womens Aux. Post 1022. On March 19, 1927 she married Holland Melton in Independence, Kansas. He preceded her in death March 9, 1977. She is survived by: 2 daughters, Doris Green and Judy Andres both of Coffeyville; 14 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death her parents, 2 sons, Harold and Ralph Melton, 3 brothers, 1 sister. The body will lie in state on Sunday, April 30, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Graveside services will be held on Monday, 2:00 p.m., May 1, 2006 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas. Pastor Jamie Regis of the Dearing Christian Church will be presiding.
