DorothyDott G. Beeson, 82, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at her home. Dott was born on November 4, 1928 in Dearing, Kansas to Harold and Frances Wanack Davis. She grew up in the Coffeyville area where she received her education. She graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School. On December 27, 1945 she was united in marriage to WilliamBill C. Beeson, the couple made their home in Coffeyville. Of that union five children were born. The couple divorced many years later. Dott worked at several local businesses that include: Sears, Midland Theatre, The Music Box, she worked nights at the Country Club, she worked for Funk Manufacturing until her retirement and for the CASA Program in Coffeyville and worked as a Crossing Guard for Independence school district. She was a member of the Tyro Christian Church, and in the past had taught Sunday School at church. She greatly enjoyed her job as a crossing guard and loved to get in her car and drive around seeing the changes in the seasons. Dott is survived by her children, David Beeson of Coffeyville, Kansas, Diane Jordan and husband Bill of Pleasanton, Kansas, Penny Swigart and husband, Jerry of The Woodlands, Texas, Marci Schrag of Canyon Lakes, Texas sister, Lorene Gatewood and husband Clyde of Coffeyville, Kansas grandchildren, TJ Beeson, Briana Owens, Elyssia Schrag, Nicole Lowe greatgrandchildren, Dakota Lowe, BriaLee Lowe and Reece Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Frances daughter, Debra Elaine Beeson brothers, Harold and Bill Davis. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas. Evangelist David Bycroft will officiate.
