Coffeyville resident Dorothy Jean Smith died on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 in Overland Park, Kansas. She was 75. Dorothy was born on May 20, 1931 in Coffeyville, Kansas to George Michael and Katherine Blanche Nolton Deller. She gew up in Coffeyville and had attended Holy Name Catholic School. On August 3, 1950 she married Kenneth E. Smith, Jr. in Bartlesville. The couple made their home in Coffeyville all of their married life. Dorothy was a homemaker. Mr. Smith died on July 11, 2003. Dorothy enjoyed reading and crocheting. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Peggy and husband Dwain Seaton of Coffeyville, Kenneth Smith of Pittsburg, KS., Frank and wife Dee Smith, Ralph and wife Mary Ann Smith, Kathy and husband Bill Mitchell and Patrick Smith all of Coffeyville; one sister, Betty Deller; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, brothers George and Daniel Deller, a granddaughter, Kathy and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, March 18, 2007 from 1:00 pm until 9 pm and on Monday from 9 am until 9 pm to sign the guest register.
