Dorothy Stevens

Lifetime Coffeyville resident, Dorothy F. Stevens, 88, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008. She was born on June 25, 1920 in Coffeyville, the daughter of Fay and Bessie Payne Greene. On July 22, 1936, Dorothy married Paul B. Stevens in Coffeyville. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1981. Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Robert Judy Stevens, Karla Jesse Lewis, and Faye Cleston Turner; 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Sharon K. Casner, two sisters, Juanita Frisbie and Wildenna Huffman and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Interment will follow in Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Coffeyville, Kansas. Friends may call on Monday, November 3, 2008 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. that evening. Memorial contributions may be given to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
