Dorothy M. Clark West was born on August 17, 1937 in Sleigh, MS. She attended school in Sleigh and Tunia, MS and later married Robert West. They moved to Lenapah, OK in 1966 where she lived until her death on Friday, August, 1, 2008. Dorothy loved playing bingo and going to church. She leaves to cherish in her memories, 2 sons, Rev. Robert West and Gregory of Coffeyville, KS; 4 daughters, Emma, Dorothy, Jeanette, and Sandra, all of Coffeyville; brothers, James Clark of Memphis, TN, Melvin Clark and J.C. Clark of Coffeyville, Nathanial Clark of Chicago, IL; 3 step-brothers, Joe Eddie Hollins of Tunica, MS, Sylvester Hollins, Jr. and Robert Hollins, both of Chicago; 4 sisters, Catherine Burnett of Memphis, TN, Geneva Nickles and Annie Durden of Coffeyville, Rosie Kennard of Nowata, OK, 3 step-sisters, Ledora Jackson, Shirley Hollins, and Loretha Hollins, all of Chicago; 2 uncles, Chapman Taylor, Jr. of Chicago, and J.D. Clark of Sheridan, AR; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother and father, son, Calvin Clark, 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Sallery Mathews, Mozella Steward, and Lattie Clark, 3 brothers, A.D., John, and Isaiah Clark. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Mid America Revival Center Church of Coffeyville, KS. Interment will follow in Hickory Creek Cemetery, Little Flock, OK. Reverend Robert West will be officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns-Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. that evening. Memorial contributions may be given to Life Changing Ministry in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
