Douglass Close

Douglass Michael Close age 67 of Coffeyville passed away on June, 13 2018 at his home.

Doug was born in Parsons, KS on November 26, 1950 to Pat and Wanda (Owen) Close. He attended and graduated from Iola High School and continued his education at Emporia State University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Doug worked for various employers in construction over the years and retired from the Ferguson Pile Driving Inc. while in Pensacola, FL. Doug enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and running. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, and he adored his grandchildren. A major part of Doug's life was his Word of Faith Church family.

Doug's memories will live on with his son, Toby Close, brother Rex Close, sister, Janet Close, grandchildren, Daisy, Ryder, and Snow Close

He now rests with his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337 at 10:00 am with Pastor Gary Close officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery in Iola, KS. Friends are invited to greet the family and sign the register on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the Word of Faith Church and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Word of Faith Church family and to the wonderful care givers with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice for all of the love and care shown to Doug.
