Earl Floyd Riggs, 77 of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008. Earl was born on July 21, 1930 in Enid, OK, the son of Marion and Alma Harmon Riggs. He graduated from Conway Springs High School and attended Coffeyville Junior College in Coffeyville, KS. Mr. Riggs was united in marriage to Rosalyn Trotter on May 10, 1952 in Bentonville, AR. He worked many years at the National Helium Company of Liberal, KS and upon retirement was working for the State of Kansas Highway Department in Liberal, KS. Earl was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of South Coffeyville, OK until his illness. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and was a Korean War Veteran. In his spare time, Earl enjoyed gardening and fishing. Surviving to honor his memory: his wife, Rosalyn, of the home; daughter, Linda Hulstine and husband, Rod of Andover, KS; son, Shawn Riggs and wife, Luz of Liberal, KS; granddaughters, Amy Turk and husband, Travis of Warsaw, IN, and Melissa Meade and husband, Brian of Andover, KS; grandsons, Jacob Riggs and Morgan Riggs of Liberal, KS; brother, Dean Riggs of Phoenix, AZ and sister, Grace Riggs of Conway Springs, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Wayne and Marvin Riggs. Funeral services for Mr. Riggs will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, Coffeyville, KS. Interment will follow in Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home where his family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening. The family request that memorial contributions are given to Eastside Baptist Church of South Coffeyville, OK in care of the funeral home.
